Las Vegas Nevada has become the tourist destination to visit. Famous for being the dream Stag or Hen weekend and now also a fantastic sporting and family destination, it's hard to imagine that this the same place.
First and foremost has to be said that Vegas is as famous for its hotel and casino resorts as it is for anything else, the majority of which are located on the famous and ever so impressive Las Vegas strip. With so many different and awesome Las Vegas hotels/resorts on the Las Vegas strip it is hard to know which one to choose for you and your party.
Starting at the South Strip, after you have been greeted by the infamous 'Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas Nevada' sign, you will find Mandalay Bay, a Casino which has not only a shark tank, artificial beach and wave pool but also host top world title fight such as the recent Amir Khan versus Zab Judah light welterweight unification bout. The Luxor, a giant black pyramid in homage to the ancient Egyptian societies complete with replica of King Tut's tomb. The New York New York Casino is a replica Manhattan island with Statue of Liberty and even a yellow taxi rollercoaster which is not to be missed. Adjacent to this the MGM Grand stands, host to some of the biggest boxing bouts in recent history such as Ricky Hatton versus Manny Pacquiao and Flloyd Mayweather versus Oscar De La Hoya amongst others.
Moving to the central strip some of the major hotels you will come across include Caesars Palace, an Ancient Rome themed Casino and Hotel complex in which you can expect to be served by a Toga clad waitress whilst soaking up the atmosphere. The most elegant of all the Las Vegas hotels is named The Venetian, based on the beautiful European city of Venice, visitors even get the chance to take a Gondola Ride on an artificial Grande Canal. The Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino comes complete with replica Eiffel Tower and Arc De Triomphe and the Bellagio putting on the famous water, light and music show at the Bellagio Water Fountains.
The north of the strip is home to the iconic Stratosphere hotel and casino, home to the chapel in the sky and the highest thrill rides in the world on the top of the tower, standing 1,149 feet high. You will also find stalwart Circus Circus in the north end of the strip containing a circus and the world's largest indoor log flume.
With all the fantastic shows, casino's, bars and restaurants in Las Vegas it's sometimes hard to understand you are so close to one of the Natural Wonders of the world. This is a great place to visit whilst on your Las Vegas holiday. The most popular day trip/excursion from the strip is a Grand Canyon Tour, two routes exist for your tour of the Grand Canyon, the East route is far more natural and feels more isolated and is famed for its rugged and beauty, the west of the Canyon, still a beautiful location is famous for the Grand Canyon Skywalk where a glass bridge 4,000 feet above the Canyon floor awaits those of you who are brave enough to walk over it. You will usually be able to include a trip the to the Hoover Dam, an impressive structure which has created the massive man lake Mead into your itinerary and for those who have an adventurous streak within, a Grand Canyon Helicopter tour maybe more up your street.
